On the Monday of the BC Day long weekend my friends and I met for all you can eat (AYCE) Korean BBQ and Sushi at Kyo on 14th and Granville. It was a rare occasion! I’m rarely down for AYCE anymore because I find myself always eating far too much and feeling disgusting afterwards – a pretty standard reaction for teens that stuff themselves at the late night AYCE restaurants.
The restaurant is large with many tables for big groups and the staff is very good at accommodating groups. It’s a bit more expensive at $23.99 for AYCE dinner but I found the food higher quality that what you would usually get at late night places. The service was extremely attentive, the best example being the manager coming up to our table “Hey, wow, you guys ordered a lot. I recommend you eat the tempura and jap chae first because its better when its really hot.” He really cared that we ate the food and enjoyed it!
What we ate:
And this wasn’t even all we ordered! The food just kept coming. I’m not going to describe all the different dishes because most of them are pretty self explanatory. My favourites were the seared sushi, deep fried corn cakes, and the Korean BBQ (especially the short ribs). Did I eat too much? Definitely. Was it good? Yes. Would I go back? Yep! But only for a special occasion.
